Pre-Jiffy Con Friday

I should be packing.

Reading: Still reading The City & the City, which is a solid read but man I miss Bas Lag. Also, I’ve been reading over the Summoning rules in the Magic Burner. My character can summon the sanctified dead, the unsanctified dead and demi-gods. Oh yeah.

Planning: Jiffy Con!

Wearing: Sweat pants and a t-shirt.

Writing: Nothing this week, which is a major bummer.

And you?

  1. Reading: Supernatural RPG – which is interesting since I have not seen any of the show.

Planning: Cleaning/Reorganizing the office and basement (thrilling weekend plans)

Wearing: Shorts and Lineage II t-shirt

Writing: More fantasy setting materials, a couple of reviews

  9. Re: ASAP

Yeah but I don’t think you’re getting up at 6 and leaving at 7, which is what you’d need to do at least to get in Greenfield by 9.

But if you are, awesome! I’d love to run Janaki on Misspent Youth.

  11. Reading: The End of the Story, the first book in a collection of Clark Ashton Smith’s stories. Incredible stuff! Also, Watchmen. Also, Labyrinth Lord. I have a craving for some old-school gaming that never was (for me; I’ll have to expand on that some day).

Planning: A solo 4e campaign for my daughter.

Wearing: Jeans and a t-shirt. I wanted to describe that outfit as “customary” but before noon I’m usually still in my PJs.

Writing: A simple mapping feature with scrolling and zooming for a commodities brokerage system I developed.

  15. Reading: The current issue of Alarums and Excursions (which has my write up of the Dreamation Warlock Corner session — should I send you a copy?), Worlds of Cthulhu issue 2, and various volumes of the manga Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service. Also, I should read the going-to-the-printer issue of The New York Review of SF, having taken it with me to do so after spending some hours reading articles for upcoming issues of same. (Pro bono work, but lots of fun.)

Planning: Going to Books of Wonder tomorrow to hear some of my favorite authors talk about a short story collection they’ve contributed to. Data entry for my temp job that I can do at home. Trying not to overeat. Trying to clean up at least some of my clutter. Oh, and ice cream. With fudge sauce.

Wearing: T-shirt from World Fantasy Convention 2003, black jeans. Just took off my Marrow coin necklace (made by an artist who likes Catherynne Valente’s work).

Writing: My zine for Alarums and Excursions.

  19. So far it has been an interesting read. The setting looks like a lot of fun and the system is manageable.

I guess I’m going to have to check out the show one of these days.
