Sore Friday

This was my first week of doing both strength training and metcons. It felt good to get a three day week in the gym but I am sore something terrible and everything that was not sore as of this morning is sure as hell hurting now.

Reading: I stowed my two books in my weekend bag and spent the week trying to figure out where the hell they were. But I have been reading over Danger Patrol to get a grip on the system. A buddy is visiting and he asked to play it.

It shouldn’t take me more than twenty minutes to finish up what’s left of Iron Council and then I’ll finally dive into Desolation Road.

Planning: Gaming on this weekend and UFC 101 on Saturday.

Wearing: Still in my sweats and tank top from the morning work-out.

Writing: Just some absent-minded tinkering this week. This weekend I hope to put MoBu city into a more readable state and tweak a chapter of YA fiction so I can continue writing what comes next.

And you?

  1. Reading: Lots of discussion about the new WotC fan site “policy”

Planning: Wizard World Chicago this weekend and GenCon next week.

Wearing: Short and a LARP t-shirt

Writing: Aletheia demo for GenCon and last minute e-mails before heading to Chicago.

  5. Reading: finished The Scar, reread “Kingdom Come” for the bajillionth time, reading “Ender’s Shadow” and being amazed how easy it is to fall back in love with that story… even from a different perspective on it.

Planning: Thinking about how it might be fun to use the Neil Gaiman “Graveyard Book” contest as an inspiration for a party at a library (whichever library I’m at), even though the contest is for book stores.

    Wearing: bed clothes still

    Writing: not much, honestly.

  9. Reading: Dungeon magazine, the newest run, to try to build up a mental catalog of encounters.

Planning: Mega-campaign, Out in the Wastes, which is D&D in the world of the Gunslinger.

Wearing: Jeans and shirt, at work.

Writing: Daily blog about the toronto gaming scene. So far so good, but I think I should go to a con and cons are scary.

  13. R: Working this Brent Weeks assassin book. It’s still kind of meh.

P: Cleaning, hanging out with friends.

W: Green t-shirt, dark gray slacks with big Baby Borscht stains on them.

W: Great Spider Civilization rules for How to Host a Dungeon. Poked a bit more at the fantasy war story.

  17. Reading: Um, book covers. I’m at WorldCon, so reading is limited to sniffing books I’m trying to figure out whether to buy, the con schedule, the con newsletter, my notes, and the agenda of the WSFS Business Meeting. Wishing I read French, because Yves Meynard wrote only one book in English (the fabulous The Book of Knights), and the bulk of his French material has not been translated into English.

Planning: Staying up till dawn filking. Making lots of panels and concerts tomorrow and Monday. Doing follow through on various stuff from WorldCon after the con.

Wearing: T-shirt in favor of having the 2009 Worldcon in Columbus (it was in Denver), jeans, socks. Shoes currently off. Much variety of cool duds around, though not so much at filk circle now.

Writing: Notes at various panels — and some from the Heather Dale concert and the filk circle, as various neurons fired during various songs, making connections.
