Reading, Planning & Writing: Bah-Humbug Friday

Reading: I’ve picked up Black God’s Kiss as the paper book I’m reading at the moment and Songs of the Dying Earth is what is on my phone.

Planning: Some gaming tonight and then a chill weekend. I did my laundry yesterday…so it’ll be straightening up around the apartment and getting to the gym once or twice.

Writing: I’m writing up thoughts on how to set up a Penal Dungeoneering game to Whitehack, a short story that has been bouncing around my head for ages and somethin’ else.

And you?

  1. Reading: Just finished Side Jobs to get a fix of Dresden while waiting for book 15. Some excelent stories in there. Now onto Pratchett’s Unseen Academicals, only a few pages in.

Planning: PaulCon ’13! A whole day of board gaming tomorrow in celebration of my 41st birthday 🙂 It’s in a Scout Hut over the road from my house. Hoping to play the Game of Thrones wargame, Robinson Crusoe: Adventure on the Cursed Island, Lords of Waterdeep, Formula D and maybe an epic trip to Arkham Horror to finish. Off indoor rock climbing on Sunday night too.

Writing: Started a number of stories-by-email with a mate. Latest is set in Mouse Guard, “A Tale of Tails and Fur”, where Martin, Tenderpaw son of Gwendolyn, is off on his first mission after a long Winter to replenish the scent border. It’s interesting telling the tale over email with no mechanics at all, both of us have incredible free reign in the story telling, good fun.

  2. Reading: Bopping between Seanan McGuire’s Midnight Blue-Light Special (which continues to have characters use common sense and update each other on stuff folks need to know) and Volume 1 of the collected Rex Mundi (the first 18 issues).

Planning: Working on next Golden Goblin project (in progress) and running two games at AnonyCon. Doctor’s appointment tomorrow. Possible household work tonight.

Writing: Editorial comments, emails, write ups, questions about Eternal Lies.
