Lovely Week: Reading, Planning, Writing

Reading: I’m still reading Ancillary Sword and I’m digging it. I’ve had a week and a bit off from work and realize how much I lean on my long commute for baked into the day reading time. Ancillary Sword does a few things that are a bit disorienting because of the head character’s ability to jump her POV into other places and see people who aren’t immediately around her. I like it but it is taking some getting used to.

And I’m reading Prismatic Wordspray by Clinton because it is like a getting a nice letter from an old friend once a week. I love the links and the thoughts about gaming and life. Check it out.

Planning: Gaming! I might have as many as 3 games in the next 4 days. I can’t wait.

Writing: I’m writing up notes on using a generation ship as a starting-off point for Stars Without Number and finishing up bits on Sector Hades Zeta, hoping to have those posts finished up soon.

And you?

  1. Reading: Re-read The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making, and am reading Last Song Before Night, as well as the laid out manuscript of Tales of the Caribbean (Call of Cthulhu scenarios from Golden Goblin).

Planning: So… we pitched an (already written and run — we played in it) weekend long larp at Intercon Q, to run Thursday into Friday, and finally, we got the green light. So, tomorrow, we sit down with Quixotic Team Leader (who is different person than Fearless Team Leader, who might decide to play in this one) to discuss how we are going to run Lullaby of Broadway 3, assuming we get at least 41 sign ups. It is completely coincidental that we’re sitting down in Russ & Daughters Cafe, and utterly coincidental that this is near Economy Candy, which hopefully still has kosher for Passover Fox’s U-Bet Chocolate Syrup with real sugar. And on Saturday, showing a couple of folks the movie The Third Man as preparation for the scenario “The Carmilla Sanction”.

Writing: Wiki stuff for one project, and editorial comments for two others. We did write an ad for a TremonTEAM challenge.
